I love to do deep dives in studying Scripture, but I think it is good sometimes to step back from that and read the Scriptures more as the way they were first intended. In this Immerse series, all the chapters, verses, and section headings are removed and you can read the Scriptures in a more naturally literary format. Messiah is the volume that covers the New Testament, and I did the 16-week reading plan in the back of the book (there is also an 8-week plan). I thoroughly enjoyed reading the Scriptures this way! It was refreshing. I also watched The Bible Project’s book overview video as I started each new book which also helped me keep the larger context of each book in mind as I read. Maybe something to try in your times of Scripture reading?

What if rather than Bible “snacking,” we immerse ourselves in the story?
