I’m honestly surprised I’d never heard of or read this book before because I think it is one of the most important books on leadership I’ve ever read. One of my friends who also read it recently said he thought it was “almost prophetic in its timing,” and I agree. Perhaps now more than ever, it’s important that spiritual leaders tend to their own souls. Whether you lead your family, a ministry team, a small group, or a church; I’d encourage you to learn from Ruth Haley Barton’s wisdom.

Maintaining a life-giving connection to God is the most important leadership decision.
